01Who we are

Tuff Search (tuffsearch.com) is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We don't publish a postal address; for privacy questions or requests, email privacy@tuffsearch.com.

02Calculator inputs

The numbers and details you type into our calculators are processed in your web browser to produce your result. They are not sent to or stored on our servers. If you download a result (for example a PDF or text report), the file is created on your device.

03Information collected automatically

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard server log data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. We use it to keep the site secure and working.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located (country/city level), what device and browser they use and how long they stay. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and processes your IP address to provide this service.

Google Fonts

Some text is displayed with fonts loaded from Google's servers. Loading them sends your IP address to Google.

04Advertising (Google AdSense)

Tuff Search shows ads served by Google AdSense. This is how we keep the calculators free.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

We do not control which specific ads appear, and advertisers do not receive the numbers you enter into calculators.

05Cookies and similar technologies

These are the cookies and browser-storage items we observed on Tuff Search (checked 11 October 2026). Lifetimes shown are what we observed in a browser; names and lifetimes are set by Google and may change.

Managing cookies: visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message (provided by Google) and can accept or reject advertising and analytics cookies; you can change your choice at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

06Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if included) and message. We use it only to reply and handle your request, and keep it for up to 24 months unless we need it longer for a legal reason. We do not use it for marketing.

07Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

• Consent – for analytics and advertising cookies, collected through the consent message. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests – for server logs used to keep the site secure and working, and for replying to your emails.
• Legal obligation – where we must keep or disclose information by law.

08Sharing your information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider and Google (Analytics, AdSense, consent management and Fonts). We do not sell your personal information for money.

09International transfers

Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Google relies on legal transfer mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

10How long data is kept

11Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. California and other US state residents may have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. To make a request, email privacy@tuffsearch.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

12Children

Tuff Search is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact privacy@tuffsearch.com and we will delete it.

13Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Our pages link to official sources and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.

15Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the 'Last updated' date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
